Art statement

My work deals with terms of self-identity in the realm of virtual culture and human experience.

Inspired by everyday practice and thoughts, women's conditions, trading, web platforms and social media, feminism, fetishism, how one lives life under the influence of the constantly evolving worldwide web.

With that said, I always felt like an outsider, as if life happened on another stream and I’m one step next to it observing. This dissociation also drives me in my practice.

During my studies, in the process of self-discovery, I’ve dealt with family issues and questions that concern me as a woman in the world that I live in.
Throughout my work, I reflect on a process of discovery and learning of the multiple representations around me.

Since childhood I’ve had an extraordinary sense of empathy for characters through reading books, watching films, and talking to people.

This empathy has triggered me to position myself in my artwork and life, in the place of different female characters. In this act, I assimilate myself to this present time of multiple personas and virtual manipulations.

I’m intrigued by the fine line between self-exposure and inconspicuousness using body and text. I try to bring intimacy and my honest thoughts to this surface.

I’m influenced by the virtual worlds and the options they offer to women and young female artists by means of experimenting and expressing in the human aspect as well as in the artistic aspect.

My art is multidisciplinary but is always done with an affinity for text, video and digital media.
